"Oginov Tumbler" Review and Giveaway

“Oginov Tumbler” by Drumond Park Games

Drumond Park Games have really come up with a challenge with the Oginov Tumbler (RRP. £9.99).

Designed for ages eight and up it’s a pyramid puzzle game which relies on gravity to move the assortment of pyramids into position within a transparent ball.  The only thing is the pyramids can’t just fall any old way - you’ve a puzzle to solve.

Level One begins with The Dots, an easy intro to the game which allows you to practise and polish up your moves and generally get the hang of what you are doing.  When you are confident and think your skills are up to scratch you can then progress onto Level Two, until you have solved and mastered all six levels.

Think it sounds easy?  I couldn’t do it but my determination hasn’t fizzled yet.  I need to solve this thing before Mike does.  A little matrimonial competition is good sometimes, don’t you think?  Perhaps the kids might get a go soon.

After I’ve finished my next go.

Maybe.

The Oginov Tumbler is available for purchase at all good stockists but Drumond Park has offered three to give away as prizes.  Just leave a comment below to say you want to enter.

The giveaway will close on Monday, 12th December at midnight and the three winners will be announced soon after.  I’m sorry but this giveaway is open to entrants in the UK only.

Good luck!

(Drumond Park Games sent us The Oginov Tumbler for the purpose of this review).

Christmas Vomit

Did you read this morning's post?

I thought I would update you.

Here we present to you...

... Christmas Vomit.

Does it look familiar in your house?  Do you sympathise?  Do your children like to help?

Please reassure me (and other parents who aren't brave enough to admit it) and send in your own Christmas Vomit photographs.  I will then share them with everyone right here on the blog.  The winning Christmas Vomit photo will win a copy of our book.  How is that for a deal?

Send your pictures to me at family@largerfamilylife.com with "Christmas Vomit" in the subject line.  You can also share them on our Facebook page, oh and do spread the word. I'm sure we aren't the only family with such great decorating helpers *cough*.

Pukes away!

Win a girl's dress from Shabby Apple!

I forgot how much fun it is to dress up a little girl. Having two of them at once to dress up is twice the fun. There are such pretty clothes out there and it's just not the same with boys clothes, is it? The only thing is that I have probably spent far more than I should have in the last couple of weeks.

Shabby Apple have a gorgeous range of dresses for little girls.  In fact, they have a gorgeous range of everything for mum too.  Everything is gorgeous.  So when they asked me if my readers might like to win one of their gorgeous dresses I spoke on your behalf and said that I thought you might.

Would you like to win this gorgeous little "Pink Panther" dress for your baby or toddler?

You have four chances to win this giveaway and this is how:

1) Pop over to Shabby Apple and take a look through their range of clothing and then come back and leave a comment telling me which item you would have if you could choose anything at all.

"Dino Bite" Review and Giveaway

“” by Drumond Park Games

Readers who are familiar with us will be aware that we have a lot of sons.  They are all very different, with a range of personalities yet they all have a fascination with dinosaurs.

Show them a box containing a game called “Dino Bite” and the cries of ,“Can we play it now?!! Can we?!  PLEEEEAASE!!!!” become quite deafening.

The game is recommended for children aged 4 and up, and between 2 and 4 players can play at a time.   Another bonus is that it only takes 2 x AA batteries, so isn’t going to break the bank there either which is always a plus in my opinion.

The aim of the game is to rescue the twenty Dino Babies hidden beneath a leaf in their Dino nest before the big, bad Dino realises what you are up to and JUMPS!  It isn’t as easy as it sounds as you need to rescue them using the Dino-head shaped tweezers.  Can you feel the pressure?

The boys loved the roaring dinosaur which definitely added to the mood of the moment and nerves and trepidation were rife.  The rescue of the dino babies was obviously a very serious task which I had failed to appreciate.  There were furrowed brows and deep levels of concentration followed by howls of laughter when the Dino “caught” them!  This game was a definite winner in our house and got the thumbs-up all round.

Drumond Park Games have given us two “Dino Bite” games to give away.  Just leave a comment below to say you’d like to enter.  You can earn an extra entry by becoming a Larger Family Life Facebook friend  (leave another comment to say you are now a Facebook Friend) and another extra entry for becoming a Larger Family Life Twitter follower, and one more extra entry for tweeting/blogging/Facebooking about the giveaway and linking back to this post. Leave one separate comment below for each entry method you do.

Two winners will be picked after the closing date of Monday 14th November.  UK entries only please (US readers, please check back as I'll soon be hosting a giveaway just for you).

Good luck!

The giveaway is now closed.  Please check back tomorrow for winners.

The winners are:

Commenter number 11 - Rachel

and

Commenter number 3 - My Life and Kids

Congratulations!

Please email me at family@largerfamilylife.com with your name, address and email details so that I can arrange for your prizes to be sent out to you both.

(Drumond Park very kindly sent us “Dino Bite” for reviewing)

"Pumpaloons" Review and Giveaway

“Pumpaloons” by Drumond Park Games

Many children’s toys and games rely on using batteries in order to play them which can be quite costly.  It was good to see a game where you didn’t have to worry about stocking up on double A’s before unpacking it.

“Pumpaloons” (rrp. £19.99) is for two players aged 4 and up.  You have two squished up characters, Stripeyloon and Spottyloon who need to be pumped up as quickly as possible.  The winner is the first person to pump up their “loon” and make him squeak.

Sibling rivalry reaches new heights... literally

Use your hands, feet, elbows or nose to pump... anything goes!  Just pump, pump, pump until you win!

Paddy won!
(Just don't tell Harry I pulled out his pump from the valve)

We ended up making Pumpaloons an equivalent to an Olympic event here, complete with an elimination round.  Whoever thought that such fun could be had with something as simple as air?!

Drumond Park have offered to give a Pumpaloons Game to two lucky winners.  Leave a comment below to enter.  The giveaway will close at midnight on Monday, 10th October and winners will be announced soon after.  (UK entrants only please).

Good luck!

(Drumond Park Games provided us with our own “Pumpaloons” game to review)

"Bubble Buster" Review and Giveaway

“Bubble Buster” by Drumond Park Games

My children, like any other children, love to play games.  The problem is that with the ages ranging from 18 down to under 1 there are certain games that some cannot join in with because they are too young.  “Bubble Buster” puts an end to that problem because, even though you might think you have to be a young child to enjoy it, I’ll let you in on a secret... you don’t!  The fun is so infectious that even mum and dad can let their hair down and join in.

“Bubble Buster” is recommended for ages 4 and up and thankfully, Drumond Park Games haven’t put a maximum age limit on it so I will take this as a sign that we can enjoy some quality parent/child time together without any inhibitions.  One or two people can play at a time, each using a two pronged Bubble Buster wand to burst the bubbles coming out of the Bubble Blower.  Every time a player bursts a bubble the wand makes a “ping”, going higher and higher until eventually the winning player reaches the 20 bubble goal where celebrations and cheers are accompanied with the wand’s winning chime!

This game provided so much giggling and laughing that even the spectators had fun, solving the problem of endlessly being asked “Is it my turn yet?”.  Even the baby in his chair loved watching the bubbles floating around in the air.  There wasn’t one member of the family who didn’t enjoy this game.

“Bubble Buster” has an rrp of £17.99 and is available from all good stockists but Drumond Park Games have kindly offered to give one game to two of our readers.

To be in with a chance of winning just leave a comment below.  That is it!

The giveaway will close at midnight on Monday, 12th September and the winners will be announced soon after. (UK entrants only please).

This giveaway is now closed.  Winners will be announced shortly!

Good luck!

(Drumond Park Games sent us our own Bubble Buster game to review for this post)

Could it be you?

Thank you to everyone who entered our competitions to win a copy of "Love Another Child" by Chris and Wendy Jeub, and for those who joined in my virtual baby shower to win a copy of our book, "Larger Family Life".

Now, to pick the winners for "Love Another Child" I used the Random Number Generator.  However I had difficulty copying the image showing the winning number so instead I took a photo.

Here is the first winner...

Commenter number 32 aka JennaKeller!

And winner number 2 is...

.... commenter number 10, aka Gen D'Orleans!

Well done to both of you!  You each win a copy of "Love Another Child".

As for the virtual baby shower, choosing a winner was very difficult.  You could not get away from the selection of t-shirts though and even though I am definitely not a fan of shirts with slogans on, I did actually quite like this one.  So Abba12, a copy of our book will be on its way to you!

Can the three winners please email me at family@largerfamilylife.com as soon as you can with your full name and address details?

Thank you to everyone for entering the giveaways.  Don't forget you have one more chance to win a copy of my book here but hurry, it closes on Monday.
